Tine Raisbæk is the woman behind Kajakkbox and describes her kayaking journey in this way:
I first tried sea kayaking at a folk high school in Denmark in 1996 and was immediately hooked. I eventually became a sea kayaking instructor in Denmark, but moved to Norway in 2005 to study outdoor life in Bø in Telemark and have been making excuses to stay ever since.
To have someone to paddle with, I started around 2008 to gather some paddlers for trips in Midt-Telemark, and new participants kept coming, so that was the start of Norsjø Padleklubb.
I was also project manager for 10 years for Telemarkspadler'n, a paddling competition on the Telemark Canal with up to 150 participants. This led to participation in several other races and some experience with surf skis and fast kayaks.

It has been exciting to participate in the various races, but for me it is ocean kayaking that gives me the most joy, with the opportunity to go on adventures and discover new places.
Since 2009, I have held countless courses and there is little that gives me more pleasure than seeing my course participants crack the code to new paddling techniques, experience the joy of paddling from a kayak - or experience their first fall in a safe way.
I consider myself a well-integrated Dane, and after several years in Telemark I found love in Kodal outside Sandefjord. From there I still run Kajakkpadling.no and now also Kajakkbox to make paddling fun available to more people.

Tine Raisbæk established Kajakkbox in 2022 after offering kayak courses and guiding since 2010 in the company Kajakkpadling.no.
The experience was that most people who went kayaking loved it, but far too many didn't get to paddle afterwards. Good kayaks are expensive, and even if you use one, you also have to plan and organize and actually have the kayak with you when the weather is right.
In addition, finding the perfect kayak often takes some trial and error, and most people can benefit from trying out a few different kayaks before buying.
The Norwegian coast is fantastic, but it is not always easy to find parking and know where it is possible to start kayaking. With the “Padleleden” that the county municipality and the Norwegian Paddling Association have been behind, it is easier to get an overview of the possibilities, but there are still almost no rental companies.
Easy access to suitable kayaks near the water is the goal of Kajakkbox.
Our vision is to offer good meeting places and paddling fun for as many people as possible, and we look forward to exploring the possibilities.

With Kajakkbox we want to contribute to more people having the opportunity to paddle whenever they want by renting a kayak instead of owning one. The kayaks will be stored where they are actually wanted to be used and close to ground level, which will make paddling possible for a much larger part of the population since it removes the physical obstacles and strength requirements. It will also mean that they do not become a visual barrier in the landscape.
The storage module functions as a versatile bench and meeting place, which has utility values far beyond its value for paddlers.
It is hoped that people will have the opportunity to test different types of kayaks before they buy their own, and that existing kayaks will be given far more use than is the case today.
Through good information for paddlers, it is also possible to ensure that more people learn about local attractions, good trip suggestions, animal and plant life, and special considerations for each location. This will contribute to both the desire to live and the desire to visit, and will have ripple effects on the rest of the tourism industry. Information about safe paddling will also be shared through this channel.
